Spring is most definitely here! The sun is shining (most of the time) and there’s a sense of change in the air – whether it’s from the seasons, the clocks or the sunrise. And now Easter is just around the corner it’s time to think about renewal and rebirth – of our skin that is! Easter may be a christian tradition but there’s definitely elements of the holiday that we can borrow and introduce into our skincare routine.
Easter is traditionally about renewal and rebirth so it’s a great time to have a spring clean of your skin too and get it ready for the new season. So make time for yourself one evening this Easter weekend and indulge in wellness.
Start by giving your skin a good cleanse and tone. This will remove any makeup and dirt that may have got ingrained from the day – we can’t always see the dirt on our skin until we remove it so you may be surprised at what your skin has been harbouring.
Follow that with an epsom salt bath to relax your whole body – this will replenish the level of magnesium in your body which can help to lift your mood, give you more energy and make you look and feel better.

After your bath apply a nourishing face mask – home made ones are great and very easy to throw together. Just try mashing up some avocado with honey to give your skin a glow or add egg to reduce oil associated with acne.
Before you go to bed make sure you apply a little retinol – leaving this overnight really allows it to work deeply into the fine lines and gives the skin a lift by plumping it.
The following morning you should awake feeling refreshed from the benefits of the epsom salts.

Start the day by applying your usual serum followed by a vitamin c treatment – this will help to protect your skin from free radicals and will boost the protection of your sunscreen to protect from the UV rays.
Finish with your sunscreen and moisturiser to brighten up the skin – even if it’s not sunny it’s important to protect your skin from UV rays that can age the skin.
And there you have it – a skin care routine to help renew your skin and bring it into the new spring season. Enjoy!
