Did you see my first blog post on Facial Yoga moves last week? It’s not just your body that needs exercising – working out your face can really help tone and stretch your skin. Take a look at these moves below to finish off your workout – now everybody say OM!
Move 3 – The Smile Soother
Who’s it good for? Anyone suffering from lines on the cheeks and sagging skin.
Use it as an alternative to: Lower face lifts and fillers.
Instructions: Make an ‘O’ shape with the mouth making sure you hide the teeth with the lips. Start the move by smiling widely whilst keeping the teeth hidden – repeat this movement six times. Next, hold the smile shape with your mouth and place one index finger on the chin. Then start to move the jaw up and down with the finger as the head tilts gently back. Relax the face and continue to repeat the move twice more to finish.
Move 4 – Flirty Eyes
Who’s it good for? Anyone with deep eye hollows and drooping eye brows.
Use it as an alternative to: An eyebrow lift.
Instructions: Start by placing an index finger under each eye pointing towards the direction of the nose. Hide the teeth with the lips and tease the top lip and bottom lip away from each other at the mouth. Start to flutter the upper eyelids while gazing at the ceiling for 30 seconds. Repeat a few times to finish.
Move 5 – The Face Lift
What are the Benefits? Known to smooth the nasolabial fold lines (aka smiles lines) and lift up the eyes and cheeks.
Instructions: Start by placing both palms on your temples and push your hands up and back, lifting the sides of your face and opening your mouth and make an “O” shape. Then drop your jaw to make your face as long as possible and hold this pose for five seconds. Repeat two more times to finish.
How did you find the moves? I’ll be sharing some all this week over on my Instagram so let me know what you think in the comments.
