Exercise your Face with Facial Yoga – Part 1

We all know that in order to be healthy and happy we need to exercise our bodies – but what about our faces? Well according to Refinery 29, we should all be working that out too. So get ready to say OM to Facial Yoga – not only does it give you an all natural face lift but it’s is full of the same methods you would use in your normal practice. And dedicating just a few minutes a day to it will get your skin stretched and tone. So, ready to give it a try? Take a look at these 2 key moves below to get you started and look out for the final 3 coming next week.

Move 1 – The Forehead Smoother

What are the Benefits? Know to prevent wrinkles by relaxing the forehead muscles and using acupressure to remove tension.

Instructions: Start by making a fist with both hands. The place the middle and index finger knuckles in the center of your forehead and apply firm pressure. Make sure you maintain the pressure as you slowly slide your fists out to each side. End by gently pressing your knuckles into your temples. Repeat this four more times to finish.

Move 2 – The ‘V’ Movement

Who’s it good for? Anyone who suffers with drooping eyelids, crow’s feet, eye bags and puffiness.

Use it as an alternative to: Invasive Eye Surgery or Botox Injections.

Instructions: Start by pressing both middle fingers together at the inner corner of the eyebrows, then with the index fingers, apply pressure to the outer corners of the eyebrows. Then take your gaze to the ceiling, raise the lower eyelids upwards to make a strong squint, hold for a few seconds and then relax. Repeat this movement six more times and finish the move by squeezing eyes shut tightly for 10 seconds.

How did you find the moves? I’ll be sharing some all this week over on my Instagram so let me know what you think in the comments. And don’t forget to look out for part 2 coming next week!
